Between October 31st and November 2nd, SiGMA 2014 will gather under one roof some of the world’s leading figures in the iGaming industry, turning Malta into a focal point where the latest industry knowledge will be made available to over 500 attendees, including suppliers, C-level executives, affiliates and marketing partners.
The summit is purposely divided into two dedicated tracks which specifically address topics interesting these groups. Conference One will be aimed at C-level executives and suppliers, with a special focus on regulation, taxation, legislation, banking and software development issues.

Executive Chairman, Lotteries and Gaming Authority
Joseph Cuschieri will bring to the SiGMA 2014 podium his vast experience in economic regulatory frameworks. A certified public accountant by profession, Joseph Cuschieri has held numerous posts in the electronic communications sector, including a five-year stint Chief Operating Officer at the Malta Communications Authority.
In 2013, Joseph Cuschieri was appointed Executive Chairman of the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA), a role he took on with the express intention of spearheading important reforms that will make the LGA more efficient and agile, including strategically develop the on-line gaming sector further and consolidate Malta’s sterling reputation globally as an robust gaming jurisdiction.

Planzer, Planzer Law
Simon Planzer is a founding partner at Planzer law, a Swiss law firm which specializes in gaming law and advises companies in the sector on general commercial issues.
His background in the gaming industry is both practical and academic, thus being able to expertly synthesize legal concepts with real-world scenarios where these apply. In fact, Simon Planzer wrote his Ph.D. thesis on gaming and is a member of the International Masters of Gaming Law, an organization gathering together some of the world’s top gaming lawyers, regulators and educators.
Simon Planzer will step onto the SiGMA 2014 stage three times. His first presentation, delivered on October 31st, will explore whether a single market for online gaming can become a reality or forever remain an elusive pipeline dream for operators. Joining him for this talk will be Nick Nocton and Michael Frendo. Later that day, he will take the floor again, with Silvio Schembri and Samuel Gauci, to discuss best practice for responsible social gaming.
On November 1st, Simon Planzer will be presenting again with Nick Nocton, this time to provide a comprehensive overview of gaming legislation outside the European Union and explore emerging gaming markets.

Nick Nocton is Director of the Gaming and Betting Group at the London law firm Jeffrey Green Russell Law. He has advised operators on gambling issues for over twelve years, with an emphasis on licensing, regulation and general commercial matters.
Nick Norton’s speaking credits include numerous national and international conferences and he regularly contributes to many leading gaming publication as well. He holds the post of Editor of IMGL’s European Gaming Lawyer magazine.
At SiGMA 2014, he will be sharing his views about the feasibility of a single globalised gaming market on October 31st, as well as discussing gaming legislation outside the European Union on November 1st.
