Global Poker Index (GPI) and Ivey League have inked a deal that will see the pairing unite to help promote poker to the masses.
The GPI and Ivey League have entered into a strategic partnership that will see the GPI promote Ivey League sponsored pros, as well at uniting to push the boundaries of poker to a more global audience.
The deal comes just a few days after the GPI CEO, Alex Dreyfus, went onto social media to advise followers of the GPI that some interesting press releases were ready to be launched over the next few weeks.
As part of the deal, Ivey League sponsored players will undertake Q&A sessions on the Hendon Mob forum; there will be special Ivey League promotions running on the GPI Fantasy Poker Manager app, discounts, special access and features on many of the Ivey League’s bountiful roster of pros.
Ivey League pro Dan Smith is the current world number one, as ranked by the GPI Top 300, after a wonderful summer saw him take over $2 million away from the $100,000 Super High Roller at The Bellagio, and a deep run in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event that saw him bow out in 20th place.
“Ivey League is a single source for all training needs. Our goal is to provide the tools necessary to increase the skill level of every poker player and to win,” said Ivey League founder Phil Ivey. “We look forward to working with the Global Poker Index as they are a leader in promoting poker as a sport/skill game.”
“We are elated to be working with the biggest name in the game of poker,” said Global Poker Index CEO Alexandre Dreyfus. “We hope that this team will further highlight the game of poker and promote its players.”
It’s the second deal involving Ivey League that has been announced in recent weeks. The Canadian Poker Tour Summer Showdown is currently midway through its 11-day, 10-event series at Grey Eagle Resort and Casino in Calgary Alberta, and Ivey League is the headline sponsor at that event.
