Pechanga.net and Spectrum Gaming Group have been unveiled as the hosts of the inaugural iGaming Legislative Symposium to be held February 27 2014 at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel in Sacramento California.
The Californian gambling companies are finally understanding that co-operation needs to be on the menu, if they are going to get any opportunity to tuck into the potential $10bn in gross gambling revenue that is just waiting to be devoured each year through the vehicle of online gambling.
Past process has been blighted by the gambling companies inability to find any semblance of unity, as each bill that has passed onto the powers to be differs from the last, as highlighted by Kirby Garlitos just yesterday.
That’s soon to change as the great minds start to think alike with the creation of the iGaming Legislative Symposium set to take place early next year. Attendees will include state legislators, gaming regulators, tribal and commercial gaming operators and some of the smartest, and experienced, Internet minds from around the globe.
The purpose of the symposium is to brainstorm the legalization of online gaming in the state of California, in a bid to flesh out as many of the issues as possible, before exploring mutually acceptable solutions.
“The importance of fair taxation and strict regulation in a new industry like online gaming cannot be overstated,” said Victor Rocha, owner and operator of Pechanga.net. “The 2014 iGaming Legislative Symposium was created to look at these and other important issues facing California in the next legislative session. Our goal is to provide solutions to these complicated issues.”
It seems these discussions are going to be key, as 2014 promises to be the most important year in Californian history as far as online gambling is concerned.
“California has been a focal point for the implementation of Internet gambling for many years,” added Joseph Weinert, executive vice president of Spectrum Gaming Group. “Considering the current size of its Native American gaming industry and its sheer market size, events in California could profoundly impact the size and structure of iGaming throughout the United States.”
