Melco Crown nabs pair of Five-Star Awards for Macau hotels

melco-crown-five-star-ratings-in-postMelco Crown earned some well-deserved bragging rights after two of its luxury hospitality establishments in Macau earned Five-Star Hotel Awards from the 2013 Forbes Travel Guide. Both the Altira Macau and the City of Dreams’ Crown Towers were given the sought-after designations. Equally impressive is the fact that Altira Macau has earned the rating for four consecutive years now while City of Dreams’ Crown Towers is the first hotel and casino to earn the award in the Cotai region.

All in all, 76 establishments were given Five-Star ratings, and only five of them in Macau. We gotta say that if you have two of the five hospitality with Five-Star ratings in one of the most lucrative regions in the world, that .400 batting average is pretty damn good.

But the awards don’t just stop there for the two establishments. Altira Macau also boasts of Altira Spa, which also scored a first in its own right after becoming one of only four spas in Macau to be receive the Five-Star rating. Taken together, Altira Macau’s four consecutive years of earning the highest rating in the Hotel and Spa categories means that the establishment is consistently one of the most popular and booked establishments in Macau. That’s no small feat considering the plethora of choices available to locals and tourists alike.

Meanwhile, City of Dreams has been no slouch in raking in awards too. Not only is it the first hotel and casino resort to be awarded the Five-Star rating in the Cotai region, but it also took home the “Integrated Resort of the Year” award during the recently International Gaming Awards in London. On top of that, it’s signature restaurant, The Tasting Room, was awarded a Michelin star rating and is ranked as the 5th best restaurant in Hong Kong and Macau by “Hong Kong Tatler’s Best Restaurant Guide”.

Clearly, Melco Crown has something to be really proud of. That wasn’t lost on company co-chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho, who, in a press release, said: “We are honored to have again received this very prestigious and authoritative accolade and to be recognized among the best hotels and spas in the world. The coveted Five-Star awards reflect the exceptional commitment that is present at both Altira Macau and City of Dreams’ Crown Towers, whereby each and every guest experiences the true art of hospitality.”

“Both Altira Macau and Crown Towers at City of Dreams, Macau represent Melco Crown Entertainment’s in-depth understanding of the hospitality landscape in Asia and its commitment to elite tourism. The awards fortify our contribution to Macau’s transformation into an international travel and leisure destination for the most discerning guests.”
