It’s under a month until anyone that matters in the Asian gambling industry descends on Macau for this year’s Asian Gaming & Hospitality Congress. The event, taking place at the Galaxy Macau from November 27-28, promises to be the best yet with more attendees and speakers than ever before and a clear focus on the future of a market that continues to grow.
This year’s conference comes at a pivotal time for the region’s gambling industry as a number of jurisdiction are either planning to allow fully-blown casino resorts or have new developments planned. In that vein, new casinos in the Philippines will be at the top of the agenda as well as the veritable riches that regulation in Taiwan, Japan and South Korea will bring firms deciding to get involved. For something even newer than that, Gaming Market Advisors lead a discussion at the end of the first day (16:45) that focuses on the emerging market being established in the Russian region of Vladivostok.
That’s not all though. There will be a strong focus on the industry’s future with discussion centering on where the gaming and entertainment can go to safeguard the region’s economy. Macau’s politicians have already urged companies to start diversifying their offerings to cater for a wider selection of customers and the conference leaning towards hospitality, as well as gaming, will help out firms looking to diversify. A session on Marketing to China (10:30, Day Two), which is split into two case studies on the Luxury Industry and Attractions, Shows and Theme Parks, will provide excellent insight on diversification and how best to target Chinese consumers.
Online gaming also has an increased presence at this year’s conference and at 15:50 on day two the panel discussion on Moving towards Internet and Mobile Gaming will give those in the Asian market a well-rounded overview of iGaming. Isle of Man head of eGaming Tim Craine is as good a name as any to chair a discussion on online gaming and with panelists from Dickinson Wright and Global Betting & Gaming Consultants; this should be at the top of every attendees list as a session to reserve a place at.
