4g4G internet access in the UK will give mobile gambling firms the opportunity to take the industry to the next level. Daniel Lindberg, CEO of Quickspin, a developer of games targeted at the UK, told CalvinAyre.com that 4G will deliver “improvements” for both them and the industry at large as Everything Everywhere (EE) allows access to 4G in 10 UK cities from today.

“Product innovations such as the iPad Mini, HW/SW improvement as well as increased bandwidth and internet penetrations will allow us to create a better gaming experience as well as reaching a wider audience playing our games,” Lindberg told CalvinAyre.com.

EE made history by launching 4G mobile internet access in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Liverpool, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Leeds, Bristol and Sheffield. All now have full 4G access and it means consumers will benefit from speeds that are five times faster than the incumbent – 3G. EE has promised to increase the amount of cities that can receive the product by the end of the year as well

4G’s an extremely important development for the iGaming industry as it involves the biggest opportunity for growth in the industry right now – mobile. It also gives companies a chance to take full advantage of the hardware on various devices with the new iPhone and plenty of other devices including phones from the likes of HTC, Samsung, Nokia and Huawei all supporting 4G

Price could be a sticking point for consumers but when you consider that it’s both quicker and can offer a great deal more content then we can’t believe customers won’t eventually embrace the idea. The gambling industry for one seems to be coming round to the idea and anything that improves the mobile sector even further can only be a good thing for the firms currently in the marketplace.
