gamcareDominic Harrison, the former Chief Executive of Gala Coral, with a long and respected career in the gambling and wider leisure industry, will join GamCare’s Board of Trustees in November. Announcing the appointment, GamCare’s Chairman Anthony Jennens said: “I am delighted that Dominic has agreed to join our Board. His business experience, knowledge and acumen will strengthen our team and in particular our focus on providing a professional service that delivers value for money. At the same time I know that Dominic feels strongly about the work that we do with gamblers and their families, and will be a forceful ambassador for us across the industry.”

Dominic Harrison said: “I am keen to take up the opportunity which membership of GamCare’s Board will give me to help guide and support their important work. I know, through my wide experience running gambling businesses both on and off line, how devastating a gambling problem can be to individuals and families. I have always admired GamCare’s work, and now that we have a strong and collaborative relationship with the industry – through the Responsible Gambling Trust – and across delivery agencies, I believe there is a unique opportunity to create and deliver an effective and practical strategy for prevention, education and treatment. I am looking forward to being part of that.”

Dominic is a qualified Chartered Accountant who built his career in the leisure industry through senior executive roles with Grand Metropolitan plc, Bass plc, Ladbrokes plc and Gala Coral. He is currently Chairman of Microgaming’s Poker Network Management Board and is the former CEO of Business in Sport and Leisure.

GamCare’s President, Lord Sharman of Redlynch, will be setting out GamCare’s vision and plans for the next three years at the Annual GamCare Conference at the IET, Savoy Place, London on 13th November.
