news in brief may 2Bet Butler has made its first tentative steps into the Asian sports betting market after signing a deal with InplayMatrix. The UK-based site chose the sports betting platform for its first foray into the Asian market and will give them over 20,000 in-play betting games per month. Virgin Games has released a new slot based on their founder Richard Branson’s private Caribbean retreat – Necker Island. The slot, launched on Microgaming’s Quickfire platform, has been developed by Genesis Gaming and their head of products Warren Eloff told eGR: “We wanted to create a game exclusively for our Virgin Games players – something that only we could offer and that truly summed up being part of the Virgin community. As such, we thought it would be ideally fitting to have a game created by Genesis Gaming that was themed around Sir Richard Branson’s luxurious private island.”

Gala Bingo has gone live on the Virtue Fusion network and at the same time unveiled a complete site overhaul led by former pop sensation Peter Andre. The revamp, which uses the moniker “You’ll love the Buzz”, features a number of new features and promotions aimed at enticing players. It’s all part of the “body makeover”, as Andre puts it, and the company itself stated earlier to eGR that it’s “far more than a facelift” instead calling it a “culmination of a large-scale, intensive research project involving extensive customer focus groups”. Fans of the site even chose Andre as the ideal poster boy! Surely a new low.
