A recent report from H2 Gambling Capital is claiming that online gambling jumped 12.5 percent in 2010 representing a growth of more than $29.95 billion worldwide. Yet, while haters are quick to attribute the growth to the popularity of the recent World Cup, H2 claims that the non-Fifa related growth is still in the 11.4 percent range – adding that said haters can “suck their balls through their drawers.”
The company tracked a number of variables to arrive at these findings, reporting that the driving force behind the growth may actually have been the growing online bingo industry, which grew by 28.4 percent in the year to reach an annual take of nearly $3 billion.
Elsewhere, online casinos grew by 13.3 percent, sports betting by 10.8 percent and poker by 7.1 percent.
