If you told most of the Premier League’s players and managers that they’re only halfway through a packed schedule of football over the Christmas and New Year period you’d be angering them even more than they are already. It’s very good for all us fans and especially the sports book and online gambling sites that are taking in anyone’s Christmas money that they can find – it’s rumoured that even Santa’s having a punt.
The ones laughing the most must be those who have been injured over the festive period, and therefore can go out and get leathered tonight. We’ll see you there!
Another weekend, brings a new set of fixtures though, and the latest chance to see who slips in a pile of their own urine in trying to top the Premier League. Prime candidates this weekend: the sides that make up the league’s top three right now.
Man Utd will be the first to try out the trapeze, as they travel to West Brom in tomorrow’s lunchtime offering. Earlier this season Albion grabbed a point at the Theatre of Dreams, and shouldn’t be underestimated. 3pm we’ll see if Blackpool can pull off another upset, as they travel to the City of Manchester Stadium to take on the week-to-week Man City side.
The teatime kick-off is when Arsenal are up, and a visit to Birmingham is always sure to throw up a laugh or ten. So come the other side of this weekend we could see any of these three top the league, and it wouldn’t surprise anyone were all three to flounder.
