Betfred releases TV ad campaign

fred-doneWhen it comes to TV advertising campaigns, you sometimes feel that in the gambling industry we have by far the most impressive set. Whether it’s a Paddy Power featuring a cat being unceremoniously booted over a fence, Betfair’s man in the middle being given a right hook, or Ray Winstone looking very threatening in a Bet365 ad, there’s plenty of fun to be had.

The latest company to take the plunge into the TV market is English bookmaker Betfred, and in particular their owner Fred Done. The advert has already been featured on Sky Sports and ESPN and will run throughout December and January, with an option to further it into the spring. Although not anywhere near as controversial as Paddy Power’s ad campaign, it features Fred himself explaining what his site stands for, and offering to match your bet up to £50.

Personal highlights from the ad, which can be seen below, include him evoking Ray Winstone by uttering “Don’t mess around,” minus propa cockney accent, and exclaiming to the world that it’s “my fun and I love it.”

“As this is our first major foray into TV it was important we got it right. What better way of delivering our message than the man himself, Fred. After all he’s still in everyday driving the Betfred business,” proclaimed Betfred spokesperson Mark Pearson.
