Gallas returns to the Emirates in North London derby

gallas-tantrumWeeks can be a notoriously drawn out affair when it comes to football, especially with the un-needed distraction of an international break in-between. Although, it did give us the ever-valuable “tw@t in a hat” comparison of England manager Fabio Capello. The Premier League returns with its usual gusto this weekend, and is as mouth-watering as a big pile of Aberdeen Angus fillet steak. Yeah, that mouth-watering!

The weekend’s biggest game takes place at the Emirates between Arsenal and Tottenham, a notoriously unsuccessful hunting ground for the team in white. For anyone not enamored with the main talking point that this game is likely to produce it has everything to do with a Frenchman who’s the latest to have switched one club for the other.

Former captain at Arsenal, William Gallas and his infamous temper now turn out for Spurs and thankfully Paddy Power have saved the day with some of their brilliant novelty odds. You can get 22/1 on him being sent off, and 50/1 on the Spurs defender scoring an own-goal. No odds on him throwing a strop and sitting by the post sulking. You’ve let us down Paddy.

Blackpool and Wolves face the only occasion this season that either will have a clash colour-wise, and it will be interesting to see if they both put out a “full-strength” side following them both being roundly criticized in the past for squad rotation.

Bodog-sponsored Fulham meanwhile welcome the Billionaires Boys Club that is Man City. It’s first time that Mark Hughes has faced his former employers and given their crisis up-front with injuries why doesn’t “Sparky” name himself amongst the subs?
