31 August 2010 (London, UK) – A poker player from Shropshire, Midlands will play Heads Up against five-time heavyweight boxing champ Evander “Real Deal” Holyfield at Poker in the Park festival to be held in Leicester Square, London this week.

All summer long RealDealPoker.com hosted a Beat the Champ promotion — a series of Lightweight, Middleweight and Heavyweight qualifying poker tournaments leading up to the Heavyweight final table last Sunday.

Leif G. (“GutShotRot”) of Ludlow, Shropshire won the Heavyweight Final and will now sit face to face with one of the greatest boxing legends of all time in a Heads Up match on September 2nd at 19:30 at Poker in the Park.

GutShotRot said his mom taught him Seven-Card Stud and Five-Card Draw when he was only eight. He’s been playing online for about six years now and was one of the first players to discover the new RealDealPoker.com site when it launched earlier this year.

“I liked the real cards at RealDealPoker the first time I tried it,” said the player. “It feels more like live games than an RNG site.”

“I used to play every week in the poker pocket pub league at my local,” said the player who’s had a few +$3000 wins both online and in casinos. “In my first season I scored the highest points ever for the pub. All in all I just love poker!”

“It’s going to be surreal playing against a World Heavy Weight champion. I mean, this guy knocked out Tyson!”

The Midlands father of three owns a cleaning firm in Ludlow, Shropshire. His family and a few mates will accompany him to London’s Leicester Square where he’ll play the champ.

Poker players and boxing fans alike can watch the Heads Up match live either at the Real Deal Poker marquee at Poker in the Park, or online in the Real Deal Poker room itself. The match begins at 19:30 with a prize pool of €2300 split 75/25 between the winner and runner up.
