The gloves are coming off at Florida’s 23 licensed poker rooms, where no-limit poker games will get the official go-ahead from state regulators on July 1. Given that Florida was one of the states hardest hit by the subprime mortgage meltdown, could this be a canny move by state legislators to encourage poker pros to buy up some of those vacant houses in order to have a shorter commute to the poker action?
