Rhode Island voters may eventually decide whether to expand gambling in their state by allowing its two slot machine parlors to become full-scale casinos, under a bill debated yesterday. But perhaps the biggest push for gambling expansion outside of the obvious revenue and employment opportunities it presents, is the threat of possible expansion by Massachusetts. Mass. State just saw a bill yesterday on gambling expansion, should they be the first to expand, RI could see its potential profit margin markedly diminished.
