Online gaming companies are becoming ever more closely linked with football. Why? Because there’s money in gaming and football clubs are feeling the pinch. Only yesterday Calvinayre.com reported that the French champions Olympique Marseille had become the latest club to sign a sponsorship deal with BetClic, but some football clubs are hoping for even more than just a shirt deal to salvage their parlous finances – namely desperate Liverpool, whose failure to qualify for the Champions League has left them in a world of pain. But salvation may be on its way in the form of Chinese egaming mogul Zhu Jun. If only more US states would recognise how online gaming companies could dig them out of a similar hole. Read more.
