Turkey may have banned internet gambling in 2006 and enforced a UIGEA-style dictat forbidding Turkish banks and credit card companies from facilitating transactions with Internet gambling, but that hasn’t stopped Betsson and SportingBet from continuing to do a roaring trade. Goldman Sachs estimates that some 26% of Betsson’s revenues come from Turkey – and good on them for sticking to their guns. If the Turks want accession to the EU then they should join the 21st century and abide by it’s trade principles. Read more.
