The 2010 Winter Games have come and gone, and just as January’s credit card statements bring a jolt of reality to overenthusiastic Christmas shoppers, Vancouver must now deal with paying for its Olympic party. Thus plans are afoot for Las Vegas’ Paragon Gaming Co. to build an integrated resort casino, complete with 500-room hotel and space for 1,000 slot machines, in what is now a parking lot adjacent to BC Place Stadium (where the Olympic opening and closing ceremonies took place).
