InterCasino has been voted the top player-ranked online casino site for 2010.

The announcement, released by Online Casino Advisory, will come as a surprise to the gaming industry given that InterCasino does not accept bets from players in America.

It also only came eighth in market research company Greenlight’s UK casino-related internet visibility study last year.

It’s also a shot in the arm to all those other gaming companies that feared their goose had been cooked when Uncle Sam pulled the plug on online gaming across the pond.

InterCasino, which has been operating since 1996, is powered by Cryptologic and hosts the popular Marvel slot machines. The sophisticated gaming technology, impressive graphics and quick payouts are certainly key factors that have earned the site its recognition, while their customer service is also highly rated.

“Any player around the world will tell you, InterCasino has the best software on the Internet for online casino games,” said Ed Bradley, editor of Online Casino Advisory. “It’s such a shame that US players can’t enjoy this reputable brand.”

The big returns for small stakes were the key to Crazy Slots clinching the runners-up, erm, slot. The online casino, which does accept US players, won favour among players for their regular slot tournaments.

“Crazy Slots is great because for a small amount of money players get a chance to win really huge prizes,” added Bradley. “Also, for that same amount of money a player starts the tournament with something like $500 in coins, which means they can spend $20 and play for a very long time.”

The only other surprise on the list, on which All Jackpots (No6) and All Slots (8) were regarded as the two sites players won the most on, was the poor showing of GoCasino. Usually rated among the best of the best by casino portals, it only limped in in ninth place.

Of the software providers Vegas Tech came out the best from the results, powering four of the top ten sites while RTG and Microgaming provided for two and Rival Gaming and Cryptologic supplied one apiece.
