French TV channel ditching its online gambling hub

French-TV-channel-ditching-its-online-gambling-hubTF1, the French equivalent of basic cable dumping grounds like TBS, TNT and the USA network, owns and operate sports betting mainstay Eurosportsbet. Yet sources close to the company are claiming that that relationship may be short lived, and rumors of a sale are beginning to swirl.

“Eurosportbet results are not ridiculous, mostly regarding poker, but the business is not satisfactory enough,” remarked TF1 CEO Nonce Paolini at a recent press conference. “If a takeover bid comes up, we will study it.”

Analysts believe that Eurosportsbet is another victim of France’s insanely high gaming taxes, which have made it tough for even the largest corporations to keep afloat.
