Citizens find ways around Indonesia’s gambling ban

Gambling news, Horse fighting in IndonesiaIf you think gaming laws are stringent here, try living in Indonesia. Residents there must abide by a strict country wide gambling ban.
In this predominantly Muslim country, not only is gambling illegal, it’s also considered sacrilegious. Islam prohibits any type of gambling and as roughly 90% of the of the 237 million inhabitants are practicing Muslims, the country takes this issue very seriously. However, many of the citizens not morally opposed to gambling have found ways around the laws. Unfortunately, with total gaming prohibition, the gambling options available are so underground they’re completely unregulated. In many cases, this lack of regulation has lead to some very inhumane circumstances such as cock fighting and horse fighting. Read more…

    prohibition of anything based on morality is terrible. leads to far more harm than what would be accomplished if gambling was legal.
