The Story
Online gambling operators will not be able to catch a break from any party that will dominate the UK general election next month. Current UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson vowed to review the 2005 Gambling Act, focusing on “tackling issues around loot boxes and credit card misuse.” While the loot box issue’s inclusion on the Tories’ priorities is not new, the proposed ban on credit card use is. Both Labour and Liberal Democrats are also anti-gambling, with Labour promising an overhaul of the system while the Lib Dems backing the credit card ban.
