Gamblers in the Bahamas have been temporarily spared from enduring a 5% tax on all deposits and lottery products purchases due to technical issues.

 

‘Web shop’ operators have made their opposition clear.

Tourism Minister Dinoisio D’Aguilar said that before the government implemented the new tax plan, the government needed to “re-certify” the systems and games of ‘web shop’ operators. For their part, web shop operators have been delaying compliance with “recertification” process, hoping that the government will rethink its tax changes.
