The Story

Philippine prosecutors have junked the perjury and fraud cases filed by Universal Entertainment against Japanese casino mogul Kazuo Okada.

Okada welcomed the dismissal of the cases filed against him.

In documents obtained by CalvinAyre.com, City Prosecutors of Makati and Paranaque Cities dismissed the cases after government lawyers failed to provide probable cause to send the complaints of Tiger Resort Leisure and Entertainment Inc. (TRLEI), a subsidiary of Universal, to the lower court. In a statement, the Japanese billionaire said that the dismissal of the cases showed that “Universal has been exposed again as engaging in smear tactics” against his name.

The cases stemmed from an investigation made by Universal Entertainment which found that Okada had committed fraud in three separate occasions.
