The Story

Genting hopes to outbid 13 other firms for Andorra's first casino license.

The principality wants to attract more tourists with a new casino.

Genting placed a hefty $164.6m and proposed an integrated resort project for Andorra that will create 400 permanent jobs and 600 temporary construction jobs. The project will also feature two floors of private rooms and suites, a spa and a “gastronomy market.”

Cirsa matched Genting’s bid. Other firms which have expressed their interest in securing the casino license are Partouche, Barriére, Raineau and Casinos Austria. The winner of the project is expected to be announced by the end of June.
