The Japanese government and Melco have something in common.
As part of opening integrated resorts in the country, the Japanese government is reportedly considering the use of facial and vein recognition to monitor the weekly and monthly casino visitation limits of its citizens. This move is favorable for Melco, which previously said that its City of the Future project will have facial recognition technology. CEO Lawrence Ho even offered the government “back-end access to and data-sharing with these systems free of charge.” Melco could only hope that they will earn some brownie points for offering the technology before anyone else.
