Anyone who lives in contemporary Britain must wonder what the obsession with the colour red, and especially adhesive in that scarlet shade is. It’s that point when you’re organising something and you suddenly realise that it’s going to get rather tricky. What’s that I hear? A government review into draconian red tape, including the removal of a clause in the 2005 Gambling Act which means any tombola taking more than £500 must obtain clearance from the local authority, or Gambling Commission – putting it at the same level as casinos.
