PokerVision Media, the newest broadcast beast on the block, has hired Canadian sports broadcaster and comedienne, Chantal Desjardin, to join the on-air broadcast team.
PokerVision Media is rolling out more press releases than Jimmy Choo rolls out high heels.
A few day ago, the subsidiary of ePlay Digital Media Inc. announced a marathon poker streaming session involving Bill Perkins, Jeff Gross, and the brothers Staples. Today, they announced a new hire in Chantal Desjardins.
Desjardins joins the on-air broadcast team. She has extensive sports broadcasting experience both on radio and TV and most recently hosted all the regional matches for the NHL side Montreal Canadiens on Sportsnet.
The Winnipeg native is also a budding stand-up comedian.

Montreal Gazette called Desjardins a 2017 ‘One to Watch,’ and it’s not going to be that difficult to watch her. She has a pretty intensive roster of stand-up shows planned for March, April and May appearing primarily in Ottawa, Quebec, Montreal and Toronto. When Desjardin doesn’t appear on stage, TV, or radio, she is also one of those lucky people who gets paid for voice work.
PokerVision promises to be a multi-platform network, and those looking forward to seeing Desjardins in action won’t have to wait long. PokerVision recently shook hands on a deal to broadcast on American TV on the Action Channel. Broadcasting begins on April 1, 2017, with a Canadian release planned sometime shortly.
PokerVision’s Executive VP of Programming, Malcolm Dunlop, believes that Desjardins brings something ‘fresh’ to their coverage, and the newly appointed Desjardins said she couldn’t wait to get started and thought PokerVision was setting a ‘new trend’ for sports coverage.
When Desjardins isn’t on TV, Radio, Stage, or making voiceovers she can be found at the poker tables. The keen poker player hosts an annual charity poker tournament raising funds for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
