At ICE it’s hard to move for promo girls in lycra or body paint. But when everyone is trying to gain attention with a display of flesh, everyone ends up looking the same and just a little bit – dare we say it – dated?
Industry newcomers and award-winning game supplier, Gamevy, are well known for their irreverent approach. This year, the team have decided on another cheeky send-up.
Promotion staff seem to vanish from ICE by age 25… So we’re introducing the Gamevy Grannies – two gorgeous older ladies who like to stir things up and are like NOTHING you’ll have seen at ICE.
“Ironically, promo girls are looked at, but also ignored,” commented Helen Walton, the Chief Commercial Officer of Gamevy. “I wondered what would happen if Gamevy introduced two models that stopped people in their tracks and made them really question what promo staff was really about.
“So many gaming companies look alike. Gamevy’s products are completely different so I wanted to make sure that our promo staff were just as thought-provoking and just as hard to ignore.”
“You young whippersnappers think life ends at 30!” comments Annelisa Count, who at 86 still dances regularly in music videos with Jessie J. “But anything the girls can do, we grannies can do better! We’re going to show ICE just what a little innovation can do…”
Annelisa has many dance and TV credits to her name – and this year she’s also publishing her first book. Sheila has appeared on Celebrity Juice wearing even less than for ICE. They were delighted when Gamevy sent out a call for two Gamevy Grannies who were happy to show the industry that women of all ages can be body-confident, have fun and challenge convention!
