Jorryt van Hoof has signed up to be the Ambassador for the 2014 Masters Classic of Poker to be held in his homeland Nov 21-29.
Life is never going to be the same again for Jorryt van Hoof.
This quiet, unassuming individual, is the chip leader of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) November Nine, and that not only means he is the favorite to capture the $10 million first prize but if he does he has to start considering the role of ambassador.
Fortunately, the Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) lover will be getting some practice after signing on the dotted line to become the ambassador of the forthcoming Masters Classic of Poker (MCOP).
The tournament fondly known as the Wimbledon of Dutch Poker will take place between November 21–29 and van Hoof’s role is to spread the tournament word via any means at his disposal.
The event will once again be held at the Holland Casino in Amsterdam and in a wonderful showing of nationalism, they have changed the dates so Dutch players can travel to Las Vegas to rail van Hoof without missing out on all the MCOP fun.
Van Hoof is the second Dutch player in successive years to make the final table after Michiel Brummelhuis finished in seventh place in 2013.
“We selected van Hoof as our new ambassador because he’s currently the top poker player in the Netherlands, so of course we’re honored that he’s going to promote the MCOP,” the Holland Casino said in a press release.
Ole Schemion and Noah Boeken have taken the title in the two previous years and the €4,250 re-entry event promises to be another cracker.
The series will consist of 10 events ranging from a €220 No-Limit Hold’em (NLH) Bounty tournament, to a €10,250 High Roller Re-Entry event. That’s if the visiting players can keep away from the coffee shops long enough to sit down and play.
