The SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, which is expected to soon return to its roots as the iconic The Sahara, is in the process of undergoing a $150-million facelift. As the transformation continues, new amenities are being added to keep the venue in everyone’s mind, and the latest to be presented is Infinity. This is a new gaming area designed for high-limit gamblers who like the rush of massive bets.
Infinity is part of a completely new casino floor. According to a press release announcing its grand opening, SLS Las Vegas explains that it offers high-limit gambling options, including six-deck shoe, double-deck blackjack, roulette, poker machines and more, as well as 40 other premium digital games. Among these are titles that can only be found in Vegas, such as Pure Luxe and Crystal Slant Poker.
The casino adds, “Distinct design details and flourishes set Infinity apart from the rest of the gaming floor. Custom spiral-patterned glass mosaic walls are accentuated with rich ruby, plum and violet shades offset with champagne and gold. The imported elephant-textured, gold glass panels complement the lush gold backlit weaved metal accent walls, while the lavish carpet, inspired by the Hermés Spirographie, provides a complex interplay of concentric circles in precious colors and subtle shade changes.”
There is also the Infinity lounge, featuring a 24-hour bar that serves specialty cocktails such as “The Rising Sun Coffee,” a “Suntory Toki Japanese whisky with chicory coffee infused with coconut shavings, cacao nibs and orange.” There are also domestic, imported and craft beers, ciders and a plethora of other alcoholic beverages. From Friday at 6 PM to Sunday at 6 PM, Infinity also provides complimentary hot teas and seasonal whole fruits.
The gambling options in the lounge are billed as premium products that are accessible to everyone. Slot machines start at $1 and go up to $25 and table games range anywhere from $50 to $10,000. Two elite baccarat games are available for “players who demand more exclusivity,” but which hopefully don’t use Gemaco cards.
SLS Las Vegas was previously known as The Sahara, a name it carried from 1952 to 2011 when the venue lost its luster. After trying to decide on a catchy title, the venue’s new owner, Alex Meruelo, The Sahara seemed to fit perfectly, and is expected to be installed today.
