In a July 17 press release from Aruze Gaming America Inc, they announced Martha Schuessler has been promoted to Vice President of Global Finance. This is another step in an overhaul in the executive structure at the gaming company.

This will include providing financial reporting and ensuring compliance, as well as developing financial planning and analysis while driving the company to improve its current systems.

The new vice president was first hired at Aruze Gaming in 2010 for the role of corporate controller. This eventually led to her being named director of finance, and most recently to her position as Vice President of Finance in the Americas.

In a statement by Aruze Gaming President Rob Ziems, he explained, “Martha’s leadership skills have allowed her to successfully take on additional responsibilities and demonstrate strong business acumen.” He added:

“She is an invaluable asset to the global team and an integral member of our senior leadership team. Martha has made countless contributions to Aruze’s success and we look forward to seeing where she leads our global finance operations as we continue to expand globally and grow our footprint in the industry.”

Before joining Aruze, Schuessler had been seen as a rising star in the gaming field. She had already worked at several different gaming-related companies, including serving as a casino operator at Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. as well as with slot machine maker Aristocrat Technologies, Inc.

The new vice president earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Science Accounting from Long Island University, and has received a license in over 180 gaming jurisdictions. Schuessler is expected to step into her new position immediately.

The move comes as changes have been occurring at the executive level at Aruze Gaming. In the first week in June, it was announced that longtime CEO Takahiro Usui would be stepping down from his position after 14 years as the company’s CEO. He was replaced by chief financial officer Yugo Kinoshita. Takahiro also stepped down as the chairman of the Board of Directors, which was filled by Masumi Fujisawa, vice president of product development. He also became the new chief technology officer. At the same time, the daughter of Aruze founder Kazuo Okada, Hiromi Okada, was also added to the Board of Directors.
