On Thursday, Konami Gaming announced the appointment of Greg Colella as their new VP of product management.
According to a statement released by the company, Colella has over 20 years of experience within the gaming industry, working in a large array of regulated markets. This includes in the areas of product lifecycle planning, strategy, and marketing, working in some of the most well-known companies on the globe.
Colella had most recently served as vice president of product marketing at Scientific Games. However, he left that position in December 2018. He has a proven track record of expertise and gaming product market analysis, as well as in strategic marketing, sales and business support, as well as lifecycle development. He holds a bachelor’s degree in hotel administration from the University of Nevada (UNLV).
In a statement provided by Victor Duarte, senior vice president and chief officer for product and strategy, the company welcomed their new vice president and sees him as a key player in helping to develop a comprehensive strategy moving forward. “As Konami continues its focus on advancing our product portfolio to enable customer success, we are pleased to welcome Greg Colella’s demonstrated industry knowledge and expertise to the organization,” Duarte explained. “His strategic leadership will be a direct support to the company’s immediate and long-term objectives.”
In his new position, Colella will be responsible for product strategy, market research, positioning, development, delivery, and new product introduction for Konami game products. Areas of endeavor that he has proven himself to be quite successful in.
Colella joins a star-studded group in the senior management team at Konami. He joined Steve Walther, who is the senior director of marketing and product management. Walther has been with the company since 2013 and has seen his role expand greatly, moving from overseeing the gaming project management to his new position as senior director. He also has over 20 years of experience in the gaming industry and has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California-Berkeley.
Duarte is the chief product officer and is a member of the executive leadership team. He joined the executive team in 2018 and also has over 20 years of experience in the global gaming and lottery industry. Duarte is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island holding a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Colella will begin serving in his new position immediately and is already listed in the senior management team on the company’s website.
