Genting UK has announced that work has begun on a £750,000 refurbishment of Genting Casino Luton, located on Skimpot Road, which will see upgrades to the gaming room, poker room, bar and lounge areas.

The creation of one gaming room will create more space on the gaming floor and provide additional slot machines and new electronic terminals for customers to choose from, improving customers’ gaming experience.

The number of slot machines in the new gaming room will increase from 28 to 40 and four new electronic terminals will be installed in the casino.

The renovations will also see a new wall built that will separate the existing poker room from the gaming room to create a more intimate experience for poker players. The poker room will have a new layout, with new chairs and poker clothes being added to the room and will provide players with a new poker offering, including a mix of competition and cash game poker.

The bar and lounge area at the casino will be upgraded, with new décor, flooring and furniture set to be added. In addition, the refurbishment will see general maintenance upgrades throughout the casino, with the men’s toilets, external signage and lighting, and smoking area being improved.

James Harvey, General Manager at Genting Casino Luton, said: “We are absolutely delighted to announce that the casino is undergoing a major new refurbishment. We want to improve our live gaming offering and creating a larger gaming room and more intimate poker room will certainly enhance customers experience.

“The casino bar and lounge areas are a great place for customers to meet up with friends and socialise and the upgrade will create a really welcoming atmosphere for everyone.”

Work on the casino is currently underway and the casino will continue to operate as normal during the refurbishment. The work is scheduled to be complete at the beginning of May 2019, with a relaunch event planned following the completion of the refurbishment.
