PokerStars sports betting arm, BetStars, has launched a new social media marketing campaign. The Big Call features high profile sports stars predicting the results of primetime sporting events and former Chelsea and Man City full-back Wayne Bridge stars in the first ad.
PokerStars may not be offering Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr a new contract, but that doesn’t mean the Amaya Gaming brands don’t find value in using sports stars and celebrities to promote their products.
Take BetStars for example.
PokerStars little brother has already signed the seven-time World Snooker Champion, Stephen Hendry, as an ambassador for the site, and the former England, Chelsea and Man City full-back Wayne Bridge has also recently joined the team for a spot of freelance work.
First #RaiseIt Now #CallIt
Building on the success that PokerStars experienced with their #RaiseIt social media campaign, BetStars has created a new marketing spiel that will carry the #CallIt hashtag.
The Big Call campaign features a variety of different sportsmen and women who will be receiving text messages from BetStars Towers asking them for their Big Calls on popular sporting events.
From The Jungle to the Stars
The first sports star to make an appearance is Bridge. The former pro footballer who recently appeared in I’m a Celebrity Get me Out of Here! was selected to provide an expert opinion ahead of the vital Premier League clash between Chelsea and Man City, Wed 5 April.
Bridge is an excellent choice to #CallIt because he played 87 times for Chelsea and 42 times for Man City. Bridge also made 36 appearances for England, scoring one goal.
During the inaugural Big Call Bridge told BetStars followers that he believed Diego Costa would score the first goal, picked Gary Cahill as the best choice of Anytime Goal Scorer, predicted both sides would score, that Chelsea would win 2-1, and would go on to sign Dele Alli from Spurs in the summer.
Snooker Tips Anyone?
And the #CallIt campaign moves swiftly on when Stephen Hendry will be providing his tips ahead of the World Snooker Championships in Sheffield on April 15.
BetStars recently sponsored Hendry for the World Seniors Snooker Championships, but he failed to earn a wildcard entry for the World Snooker Championships after losing to the eventual champion Peter Lines 3-0 in the semi-final.
