Helene Keeley, State Representative from Delaware and William Coley, State Senator from Ohio to participate in the International Legislators’ Day, hosted by the British Parliamentary All Party Gaming & Betting Group, and in ICE Totally Gaming.

Visiting London on the invitation of the Co-Chair of the British Parliamentary group (APPG), Philip Davies MP, the two American legislators will participate in a series of activities aimed at providing legislators and regulators with opportunities to exchange best practice in gaming regulation that they can adopt in their own jurisdictions.

The International Legislators’ Day also includes a visit to ICE Totally Gaming, the world’s largest gaming exhibition, visited by close to 30 000 attendees from around the world.

“As online gaming and sports betting remain on the legislative agenda in the United States, European markets, where both of these areas have been regulated for years, can offer some advice in how best to shape regulatory frameworks. I am looking forward to learning from my counterparts in the UK and other countries, and also to offering our perspective on policy goals in the United States”, commented Rep. Helene Keeley from Delaware, who will also address the ICE audience at its annual Regulators’ Lunch on Tuesday, 7 February, the first day of the show.

“Having participated in legislators’ meetings organised by NCLGS, supporters of the London initiative, I know well the value of information exchange. I’m hoping to talk about our experiences authorising casinos in Ohio and look forward to hearing about how other countries have been tackling issues around taxation or responsible gambling as well as new upcoming trends such as eSports and fantasy sports. I want to thank Philip Davies for the invitation to participate in this exciting initiative”, said Senator Coley from Ohio.

The two US law-makers will be joining other legislators, regulators and government officials from Singapore, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Italy, Colombia, Paraguay, Brazil and UK for a day of both formal and informal sessions and activities, that will include an international policy seminar, visit to ICE Totally Gaming and a reception at the Palace of Westminster. Spectrum Gaming Group, a global gaming consultancy, has provided critical assistance in identifying key US lawmakers to participate in the programme.
