3-Barrels of real value including the World Series of Poker commentator, Norman Chad, needling Sorel Mizzi, PokerStars partnering with Prostate Cancer UK for ‘Lads Night In’ promotion, and Dan ‘djk123’Kelly wins record fifth World Championships of Online Poker title.
WSOP commentator, Norman Chad, has given Sorel Mizzi the needle, big time, on Episode 2 of the WSOP Main Event. Broadcast on ESPN, in the build up to the airing of the November Nine, at point 37:38 of the 42:50 episode, Mizzi is sitting next to a player with the name Dan Cheater, at which point Chad says:
“Cheater sitting next to Sorel Mizzi…huh…that’s interesting.”
In July, Mizzi was a guest of Joey Ingram’s on the Poker Life Podcast where he talked openly about his past involvement in incidents that could be classed as either immoral or straight up cheating.
His transgressions involved a recent PokerStars ban for using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to circumvent the laws that bar him from playing in the United States.
“I decided to take a risk and play online poker from the United States,” Mizzi told Ingram at the time. “I was being sneaky, and I got caught, and it sucks.”
He then proceeded to admit the incident didn’t bother him saying that he creates his own ‘moral universe.’
I guess Chad was watching.

PokerStars Unite With Prostate Cancer For ‘Lads Night In.’
A Sorel Mizzi free PokerStars have united with Prostate Cancer UK for the second year to raise funds for this important cause.
The dynamic duo is asking people to support research into prostate cancer by organising home games and spreading the word around social media. Once you have organised your event, contact PokerStars and pay £5 for your ‘Lads Night In’ pack including a deck of cards, dealer button and rules on how to play the game. You can also arrange for your players to donate to the cause via JustGiving or text POKER to 70004 to donate £10.
Last year, the initiative involved 5,400 people throughout the UK raising £114,000 for the charity. Team PokerStars Pro, Jake Cody, held a home game in London, and online qualifiers were able to win a seat. It doesn’t look like PokerStars, or Cody will be doing something similar this year.
