Jason Somerville has won a $100 25x multiplier Spin & Go whilst twitching; a Russian player has won the $75k top prize on Full Tilt’s version of the jackpot lottery games and Full Tilt hire a new Marketing Director from Betfair.
They say game selection is everything in poker, but sometimes you just have to take a punt. That’s what Jason Somerville did at the end of his August 20 Twitch stream, when deciding to play one final $100 Spin & Go before calling a halt to proceedings.
It was a good choice. The Team PokerStars Pro was suddenly thrust into three way action with a winner takes all prize of $2,500.
“I have never had a 25x before. Let’s win this one. It would be a pretty sick way to end the day.” Somerville told his legion of Twitch followers.
Somerville faced off against the Australian “JWPRODIGY” and the Mexican “santiagogome.” Somerville played a perfect game of poker including a successful early call with jack high against the Mexican. But it was the Australian who would be ousted first after he moved all-in with pocket treys; Somerville made the call with A9, and an ace on the flop gave Mr. Carver a 2:1 chip lead moving into a heads-up phase that lasted two hands.
Somerville opened to 85 holding A8, ‘santiagogome’ moved all-in holding KQo, and Somerville made the call. There was a slight sweat as the [Ad] [Jh] [5d] flop created straight draw possibilities for his opponent, but the [9d] and [3h] ensured Somerville would end the night on a high.
“I love playing poker so much. I am so glad I played one more Spin & Go.” Said Somerville.
It was the highest Spin & Go victory for Somerville since they were launched last year.
A Russian Wins 2,000 Multiplier Jackpot Sit & Go on Full Tilt
That Spin & Go victory took Somerville in the region of 10-minutes. It took Russian player ‘Teremello880’a minute more to win the $75,000 top prize after hitting the 2,000 multiplier on a $50 buy-in Jackpot Sit & Go.
The 2,000 multiplier is the highest in the game. Unlike PokerStars Spin & Go games players are allowed to create deals, and this is what generally happens when the highest multipliers are triggered. No deal was made during this match.
‘Teremello880’, from Cheboksary in Central Russia, eliminated his fellow countryman ‘Vlkont23’in heads-up action to win the top prize. He called an all-in holding pocket sixes and managed to turn quads. ‘Vlkont23’ earned $15,000 for his runner-up position, and BOOMSTA from Canada walked away with $10,000 for third.
Full Tilt Snag a New Marketing Director
Full Tilt has added a new Marketing Director to their ranks.
Mark Ody joins the team from Betfair, where he has worked as Brand Director for close to three years. His previous experience includes a stint as Marketing Director for Diageo and the owner of various companies including a Lean Marketing company.
Ody will no doubt be tasked with the goal of attracting more recreational players to the site. Full Tilt’s new rewards program ‘Players Club’ was met with a solid reception when it launched last week. The site saw a surge in player numbers, and there were close to half a million hands played on their new game ‘The Deal’.
The new Marketing Director will be based in Full Tilt HQ in Dublin where he will report directly to the Managing Director Dominic Mansour.
