The Hippodrome in London’s Leicester Square has been announced as the venue for the 2014 British Poker Awards. The Awards are due to take place on 23 Feb 2015, with various forms of recognition handed out to the best of British poker.
Fans of London’s Hippodrome Casino will be delighted to hear that it has once again been chosen as the venue for the 2014 British Poker Awards (BPA). The iconic venue has been hosting top events like this since it opened in 1900, so the fifth edition of the BPA will be in safe hands.
The event takes place 23 Feb 2015, and you can head to the Hippodrome website to purchase tickets that will see you seated amongst the likes of Victoria Coren Mitchell, Chris Moorman, and Jake Cody. If you don’t was to sit, then you can stand next to Padraig Parkinson at the bar.
If money isn’t really your thing, then time is still on your side. Voting for the 13 Readers Choice awards doesn’t end until a lot of drunken Scotsmen and women start singing Auld Lang Syne, and five lucky voters will receive their tickets for free.
“Last year’s British Poker Awards ceremony was a roaring success, and by returning to the Hippodrome we know it will be one of the highlights of the 2015 poker calendar,” said Michael Caselli, Bluff Europe Editor-in-Chief, organizers of the event. “We have seen some notable achievements from British players in 2014, and time is running out to vote for your favorites.”
Awards will be dished out for best British performance in both online and live poker; for blogging, tweeting, for running the best poker league, getting involved in immense hands, and operating a top notch card room. There is even a Player’s Choice award for Best Poker Site – the winner of which will be announced at the iGaming Affiliate Awards.
This year the main focus of attention will be Simon Deadman, Patrick Leonard, and Victoria Coren Mitchell. All three have been nominated for the triple, as BPA stalwarts and newcomers both achieve recognition in 2014.
