The video game company Atari has entered the social casino space, unveiling Atari Jackpots—a new social casino game with its classic video game brands. The launch of Atari Jackpots is the company’s first foray in the industry with games developer Flowplay. The company plans to capitalize on its library of old-school games and franchises and integrate them into the world of mobile, social and online game platforms.

“This first release of Atari Jackpots is a step into online casinos, leveraging the rapidly growing interest in social casinos to offer a fun experience,” Atari CEO Fred Chesnais said in a statement. “We wanted to engage rapidly with our loyal fans, get their feedback in order to decide upon the additional features to be released to further improve the Atari Jackpots experience.”

Users won’t be able to bet real money on Atari Jackpots but the new platform is expected to offer a full menu of casual casino games that incorporates some of its most iconic video game platforms, including Pong, Asteroids, Tempest, Centipede, and Missile Command. The game will also feature unique versions of popular online casino games like blackjack, video poker, solitaire and bingo.

Atari President Todd Shallbetter also told GamesBeat that the company plans to add more games and brands to Atari Jackpots in the coming months. Those who remember playing on their Ataris when they were kids could have a special affinity for Atari Jackpots. Not only will they be able to enjoy online casino-style games, but they can do so with games and titles they all grew up playing.

The company has also partnered with Pariplay to develop Atari Casino, a real-money gambling product, which is currently in development and testing stage and is scheduled for release in late 2014.

Meanwhile, online and mobile gaming supplier iSoftBet has announced a new partnership with Austrian gaming operator Interwetten. The deal between the two companies allows Interwetten to capitalize on iSoftBet’s roster of online and mobile games, which will be offered for Interwetten’s player list. “We are looking at this new project as a true win-win situation with amazing prospects for both parties,” said Interwetten’s Speaker of the Board Werner Bercher . “iSoftbet’s content will add significantly to the competitive edge of our range of products, in particular on the ever growing mobile segment. We also appreciate highly iSoftbet’s customer focused approach and look forward to our cooperation in the future.”
