In an attempt to differentiate itself from the other integrated resorts opening in Entertainment City, Melco Crown Entertainment has launched a partnership with American animation studio DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. to provide a never-before-done attraction at City of Dreams Manila.
The attraction, called DreamPlay by DreamWorks, is reportedly the first of its kind in the world, one that’s being built on the idea of “Play, Create, and Learn” experiences, combining the best elements of DreamWorks’ vast animated library with a hands-on approach designed for children … and adults still clinging to their childhood.
It’s still unclear exactly what kind of educational and entertainment offerings DreamPlay will offer, but City of Dreams Manila clearly views the entire Filipino family as a big part of its market. DreamPlay will feature some of DreamWorks’ beloved characters, including Shrek and Po from Kung Fu Panda, as well as the attractions’ edutainment offering.
“Melco Crown Philippines is delighted to be introducing DreamWorks to the Philippines as we continue our strategy of delivering innovative leisure and entertainment offerings that enhance the leisure destination appeal of Manila,” Clarence Chung, chairman and president of Melco Crown Philippines, said in a statement.
“Our collaboration with DreamWorks is a further illustration of our expertise in developing world-class, innovative and ground-breaking entertainment for leisure seekers both in the Philippines and internationally. The DreamPlay concept delivers an education experience through spontaneous and sensory play that represents an industry first.”
There’s been no announcement yet on whether DreamPlay by DreamWorks will be ready to go when City of Dreams Manila open its doors later this year.
