FOOTBALL PUNTERS have taken the bookmaking industry to the cleaners once again, according to Ladbrokes.
13 is normally an unlucky number for some, but not this weekend as football punters all over the UK have cost the bookies an estimated £20 million thanks to every favourite winning in the English and Scottish Premier Leagues.
The accumulator of all 13 favourites winning paid out at a whopping 1203/1, and it looks like confidence is high with punters as they reinvest their winnings on Spurs and Aston Villa to complete the Premier League rout, as well as Real Madrid to come out on top during El Clasico.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “It never rains but it pours when favourites oblige. Punters have never had it so good, and for the third time in as many months they have hit the industry for millions upon millions.”
She added: “We can normally rely on at least one draw being a coupon buster, but thanks to Papiss Cisse’s last-minute winner we’ve been left penniless this weekend.”
