Michael Owen is the latest star face to join the UK gambling revolution after securing a three-year deal to act as ambassador for BetVictor.

Michael Owen is the New BetVictor AmbassadorThe former darling of English football, Michael Owen, has signed a three-year deal to become the brand ambassador for BetVictor.

The former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United striker has begun promoting Victor Chandler’s brand with immediate effect and the pair seem more than happy with the new partnership.

“Michael is a genuine sporting icon, instantly recognizable throughout the world and, as a global brand, we see Michael and BetVictor as the perfect fit and are delighted to welcome him on board,” said Victor Chandler.

“He will be sharing his forthright views and opinions with BetVictor customers on the big sporting topics of the day but especially football and horse racing which Michael is so passionate about.”

Owen added: “I am delighted to announce my ambassadorial role with BetVictor. With my sporting experience and knowledge, as well as my social media reach on Twitter and Sina Weibo, I am really looking forward to helping BetVictor develop and expand their brand into new markets around the world.”

The deal also sees Owen penning a monthly column on the site, the first of which was published on 10 February where he attempted to predict the score lines of the midweek Premier League fixtures.

It wasn’t a great start with Owen failing to predict the score line of any of the eight fixtures that went ahead, and I suggest he lowers his sights a little and just goes with the good old fashioned home/away/draw type philosophy.

You can be forgiven for thinking that Michael Owen prefers to earn his money by sitting on his backside, but since retiring from football the lad just can’t stop working.

The BetVictor deal coming on the back of his contract with BT Sport to provide commentary on Premier League fixtures, and the sterling work he gets involved with at Manor House Stables.
