GTECH Corporation has signed a two-year contract extension with the state-owned Turkish national lottery, Milli Piyango Idaresi Genel Mudurlugu. Under the terms of the new deal, GTECH will provide new lottery technology, products, and ongoing services.
Milli Piyango was established in 1939 and is the exclusive license holder to operate all lottery games in Turkey, which includes online, instant, and passive games. GTECH has been the online equipment and services provider to Milli Piyango since 1996.
The two-year extension will begin following the upgrade of Milli Piyango’s central system, and is expected to generate total revenues of approximately US$30m for GTECH. GTECH will upgrade Milli Piyango’s lottery equipment with the company’s Enterprise Series (ES) Evolution central system hardware and install 5,000 Altura GT1200 terminals which will replace and grow the lottery’s current terminal base.
