When PKR began to offer its online poker product many years back it was revolutionary. The site continues to draw in many fans thanks to the innovative 3D playing format that they have marketed over the years. Some may even say that it’s rather cool. It’s maybe apt then that the person owning the avatar “jjcooler” took down the latest edition of PKR Live, and a prize to the tune of $20,000.
The fifth edition of PKR Live, at the newly opened Fox Poker Club, saw around 150 international online players qualify for the $500 buy-in event. No one could match the North Yorkshireman though.
Andy Sherwood sure as hell lived up to his online moniker taking all the chips down, going heads-up whilst he held A-K. Hitting a king on the river blew his opponents pair of jacks right out of the water and he could only watch as Sherwood walked away with the 20 g’s.
Marketing Director, Simon Prodger told Bluff Europe: “Congratulations to Andy! The last 5 hours were intense and Sherwood managed to hold his calm through the vital hours of play. PKR Live is a great opportunity to showcase up and coming poker players and we look forward to watching closely to see what’s in store for ‘jjcooler’ over the next few months.”
