Police in Israel have reportedly been paying visits to all of the country’s internet service providers, warning them in no uncertain terms that permitting Israelis to access online gambling sites will no longer be tolerated. The helpful cops have also provided lists of the sites to be blocked, which include familiar names such as Victor Chandler. While gambling is illegal in Israel, the ISP’s have told the police that (a) if blocked, the sites will simply redirect their traffic to new sites, rendering the whole exercise moot; (b) the police don’t technically have the authority to order what they’re ordering, and (c) if the police come back, the ISP’s will sic their bubbies on them.
