Texans want gambling, Texas legislators need convincing

And despite a majority of its citizens being in favor of legalized gambling to pay its debts, its legislators still aren’t sure. So we get the scene that went down at the state Capitol on Thursday, in which gambling proponents spoke very slowly (this is the state Jessica Simpson’s from, after all) so that legislators could grasp the wacky concept that the estimated $2.7B that Texans take with them to gamble in other states could do wonders to help balance the Lone Star state’s books.
