The plot thickens in the French World Cup camp. After striker Nicolas Anelka was sent home for allegedly calling coach Raymond Domenech a “dirty son of a whore” the players have united behind the “incredible sulk” by deciding to strike themselves – refusing to train and issuing a statement criticizing the French Football Federation for sending Anelka home.
Ludicrously the players’ statement was read out by Domenech himself, while France captain Patrice Evra had a barney with Les Bleus’ fitness trainer after speaking about his disgust at a “traitor” within the ranks, who leaked the story.
As a result of this catastrophe Les Bleus are now 150/1 to win the World Cup – but then that might have something to do with the fact that if Uruguay and Mexico play out a cordial draw – which is best-priced with Bodog – they will both go through at the expense of France and South Africa. Here’s a quick tip, kids: back the draw. Read more.
