Chinese authorities don’t care what world thinks of net restrictions

As citizens of more ‘open’ countries (i.e. anywhere but North Korea, Burma or Kentucky) express concerns over China’s eagerness to maintain its ‘Great Firewall’ against internet boogeymen, China has issued a statement essentially telling the world to piss off. It also claims that Chinese authorities “frequently log onto the internet to get to know the people’s wishes”, after which those same people are presumably given lengthy prison sentences so they can contemplate just why they’d had such wicked wishes in the first place.
