Alabama’s crusade against the scourge of electronic bingo has cost state residents over half a million dollars so far, but really, what’s a few shekels compared to the price of your very soul? The Montgomery Advertiser recently printed an opinion piece which noted that the Bible was quite clear on the evils of gambling, and the writer helpfully referred to it as an ‘enslaving practice’. Which is kinda apropos, given that the Bible has no such problems with actual slavery. Hey, kinda like Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell!
